Project Artifact: Resource Requirements
Document Reference: PMO-04.06.02
This document provides a comprehensive, professional reference to understand the purpose and effective usage of the Resource Requirements in alignment with the Tasleemat framework.
1. What?
A structured schedule table recording human, equipment, and material resource needs per activity.
2. Why?
Enables accurate resource allocation, prevents overallocation, and informs procurement planning.
3. When?
Developed during resource planning following activity definition and prior to final duration estimating.
4. Who?
Created by Project Scheduler and Task Leads, reviewed by Resource Manager and Project Manager.
Tailoring Tips
- Focus on cross-functional skill matrix profiles for agile team capacity planning.
- Specify detailed equipment specs and operator certification requirements for construction.
Alignment & Dependencies
1. Pre-requisites & Inputs (Upstream Dependencies)
- Mandatory:
- Work Breakdown Structure (PMO-04.02.06)
- Project Schedule (PMO-04.03.08)
- Optional / Contextual:
- Resource Capacity Matrix (PMO-00.04)
- Cost Management Plan (PMO-04.04.01)
2. Downstream Dependents
- Mandatory:
- Responsibility Assignment Matrix (PMO-04.06.04)
- Team Charter (PMO-04.06.05)
- Team Performance Assessment (PMO-05.06)
- Optional / Contextual:
- Team Onboarding Checklist (PMO-05.12)
- Training Plan and Log (PMO-04.11.02)
5. How?
To accurately and professionally complete the Resource Requirements, the responsible party
must populate the following critical sections based on the project context (ensure parameters.md is referenced for global project variables):
- Activity Identifier and Role Required: The schedule activity code and specific professional role or technical job title required.
- Skill Competencies and Quantity Needed: Required certifications, technical expertise, and quantity of headcount required.
- Estimated Effort Hours and Allocation: Total estimated person-hours and allocated percentage commitment for each resource.
- Equipment, Machinery, and Tool Requirements: Specific hardware, specialized machinery, computing infrastructure, or testing tools needed.
- Materials, Supplies, and Facilities: Physical raw materials, office space, testing laboratories, or staging environments required.
- Resource Availability Dates and Constraints: Calendar timeframes, mobilization dates, shift constraints, and lead time requirements.
- Resource Assumptions and Risk Factors: Key assumptions regarding staffing market availability, productivity rates, and bottleneck risks.
