Tasleemat Forms Guide
Project Artifact: Network Diagram
Document Reference: PMO-04.03.05
This document provides a comprehensive, professional reference to understand the purpose and effective usage of the Network Diagram in alignment with the Tasleemat framework.
1. What?
A network model and visualization displaying predecessors, successors, leads/lags, and critical paths.
2. Why?
Calculates critical path, identifies project float, optimizes resource allocation, and reveals schedule vulnerabilities.
3. When?
Developed during schedule sequencing and maintained throughout schedule controlling.
4. Who?
Developed by Project Scheduler, reviewed by Technical Leads, approved by Project Manager.
Tailoring Tips
- Focus on cross-team story dependency mapping and release trains for scaled agile.
- Maintain fully detailed CPM logic networks with forward/backward pass calculations for infrastructure programs.
Alignment & Dependencies
1. Pre-requisites & Inputs (Upstream Dependencies)
- Mandatory:
- Work Breakdown Structure (PMO-04.02.06)
- Project Scope Statement (PMO-04.02.05)
- Optional / Contextual:
- Resource Requirements (PMO-04.06.02)
- Risk Register (PMO-04.08.02)
2. Downstream Dependents
- Mandatory:
- Project Schedule (PMO-04.03.08)
- Earned Value Analysis Report (PMO-06.05)
- Optional / Contextual:
- Release Plan (PMO-04.03.09)
- Sprint Planning Log (PMO-04.03.10)
5. How?
To accurately and professionally complete the Network Diagram, the responsible party
must populate the following critical sections based on the project context (ensure parameters.md is referenced for global project variables):
- Network Diagramming Methodology: The logical diagramming method utilized (Precedence Diagramming Method - PDM).
- Critical Path Summary and Duration: Identification of critical path activities, total critical path duration, and zero-float paths.
- Near-Critical Paths and Float Analysis: Analysis of near-critical paths and activities possessing total and free float.
- Core Predecessor and Successor Chains: Key sequence chains connecting major engineering and development work packages.
- Lead and Lag Justifications: Documented technical justifications for all applied lead times and lag buffers.
- Mermaid Diagram Syntax: Valid Mermaid graph syntax representing the complete node-and-arrow network dependency logic.
- Diagram Interpretation Guidelines: Narrative guide explaining how to read activity nodes, dependencies, and path flows.
